Caritas Diocese of Salford is recruiting a Night Support Worker for Morning Star hostel in Hulme. You will welcome residents, help maintain a safe, clean environment and provide a friendly, professional service during the night shift.
Responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, answering calls, health and safety checks, logging daily handovers, ensuring security, and signposting residents to support services.

About the job
Morning Star hostel provides a pathway out of homelessness for single men with low support needs, and it provides high-quality, single-room accommodation with 24-hour staffing for 20 men in Hulme. Therefore, we looking to recruit a Night Support Worker to work overnight to ensure a smooth-running service for our hostel.
You will provide a friendly and professional welcome to residents coming in and out of the building, as well as spending time with residents when they are in communal areas. You will ensure high standards of cleanliness and comfort in the building to create a welcoming atmosphere, as well as taking pride in the appearance of the building and facilities.
You will assist in the smooth running of the accommodation/hostel such as maintaining a safe environment, monitoring CCTV, answering telephone calls and undertaking health and safety checks. You will also log information for the day staff and provide a detailed handover. Additionally, you will maintain the security of the building and report any incidents or accidents to on call staff/emergency services. Residents will be supported by signposting them to support services, respond to any need for first aid as well as abiding by service procedures and guidance.
Experience of working within a residential setting or similar and interaction with people that are homeless is essential.
