Job summary

Voyage Care is seeking a Deputy Service Manager for our residential service in Langley, a bungalow in the New Forest area, near Blackfield, Hampshire. The role is 37.5 hours per week (30 hours direct care and 7.5 hours admin) with shift times between 7:30am and 9:30pm and every other weekend.

You will lead a dynamic team, develop person-centred plans, recruit and supervise staff, and support the Registered Manager in day-to-day management. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

  • Experience in care management roles.
  • Experience with autism, Down syndrome, epilepsy and physical disabilities.
  • Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence for at least 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a care team to improve residents' independence.
  • Develop and implement person-centred support plans.
  • Conduct care needs assessments and supervise staff.
  • Recruit, induct and mentor new colleagues; carry out appraisals.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to reports.
  • Assist Registered Manager in day-to-day service management.

Deputy Service Manager - Blackfield, Hampshire - £32,038 per annum

This role comprises 30 hours per week of direct care and 7.5 hours of administrative duties. Shift times vary between 7:30am and 9:30pm, and the successful candidate must be willing to work every other weekend.

Deputy Service Managers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support are at the heart of our management teams. We're currently searching for a fantastic Deputy Service Manager to join us in leading our residential service in Langley. This service is an idyllic bungalow located in the New Forest, supported by a dynamic team who care for a wonderful group of individuals.

Our Deputy Service Manager will be responsible for managing a team of colleagues with the purpose of helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives. You could be developing and implementing person centred support plans, conducting care needs assessments, recruiting and inducting new colleagues, completing supervisions/appraisals, completing medication competencies and medication audits, attending multi-disciplinary meetings, completing reports and generally assisting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of our service. You'll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Deputy Service Manager plays a central role in team leadership and have a hands-on approach to care management.

We're interested in our Deputy Service Managers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Deputy Service Manager should have previous experience in a care management role and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care as well as experience working with individuals with autism, down syndrome, epilepsy and physical disabilities. The successful candidate would ideally also have held a full UK Driving Licence for a year.
