Job summary

Voyage Care is seeking a Deputy Service Manager for our residential service in Oldbury. You will lead a dynamic team, develop person-centred support plans, and ensure safe, high-quality care for people with complex needs.

You will recruit and induct staff, conduct supervision and appraisals, and manage medication competencies and audits. You’ll participate in on-call duties and support the Registered Manager daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care management role with a track record of improving service user outcomes.
• Level 3 Health & Social Care or equivalent is required.
• Strong leadership and staff development skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to deliver person-centred care and support.
• Develop and implement care plans to improve independence.
• Recruit, induct and supervise new colleagues; conduct appraisals.
• Manage medication competencies and conduct audits.
• Attend multi-disciplinary meetings and prepare reports.
• Share on-call duties as part of the service rota.
• Support Registered Manager in day-to-day management.

Deputy Service Managers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support are at the heart of our management teams. We're currently searching for a fantastic Deputy Service Manager to join us in leading our residential service Office in Oldbury. This service is a welcoming and friendly environment with a dynamic team that supports a fantastic group of people! Our Deputy Service Managers will be responsible for managing a team of colleagues with the purpose of helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives. You could be developing and implementing person centred support plans, conducting care needs assessments, recruiting and inducting new colleagues, completing supervisions/appraisals, completing medication competencies and medication audits, attending mutli-disciplinary meetings, completing reports and generally assisting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of our service. You'll never lose sight of why you choose to do this, as our Deputy Service Managers play a central role in team leadership and have a hands‑on approach to care management. You will also take part in the on‑call rota (although this may be subject to change depending on the needs of the service). This is why at this service our Deputy Service Manager should have previous experience in a care management role and a Level 3 in Health & Social Care as well as experience working with complex individuals with mental health needs and challenging behaviours.
