More detail about the role We are a busy 24 bedded Emergency Surgical Assessment Unit caring for emergency admissions in the specialities of Colorectal, Urology and Gynaecology including early pregnancy complications. Within the Ward we have a separate Ambulatory Assessment Unit taking admissions from the Emergency Department and GP referrals and a Surgical Emergency Outpatient Clinic and our staff work with all of these areas. As a team, we strive for excellence in everything that we do; incorporating the 6 Cs in our Nursing. The successful candidate will need to possess good keyboard skills and experience of working in a busy, challenging environment. The role will include general ward reception duties such as answering the telephone to enquiries, ordering stock, escalating IT issues and management of Medical Records, assisting all members of the Multidisciplinary team and communicating relevant information in a timely way. We are looking to recruit staff that have exceptional IT and record keeping skills, and a knowledge regarding confidentiality and data protection. NHS experience is desirable but not essential.
