Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Operative to join our team at Hatton and Bioresources sites in Scotland. The role involves operating and monitoring wastewater processes, ensuring safety policies, and contributing to maintenance tasks to meet time and quality targets.

The ideal candidate has a driving licence, experience in safety and regulatory practices, and strong problem-solving abilities within similar environments. SVQ 3 Wastewater management is desirable or willingness to achieve.

Qualifications

• Driving licence is essential.
• Experience with safety regulations and permits to work is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills in a wastewater or similar process environment.
• Operator/manufacturing knowledge is required.
• Willingness to achieve SVQ 3 Wastewater management if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and report on activities within established procedures.
• Monitor, test and analyse service performance and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure equipment and resources are used and replaced to meet standards.
• Perform routine activities to time and quality standards for daily operations.
• Support of planned maintenance system (PPM) and task completion.
• Input critical data accurately.

Job description

Salary: £29,831.33 rising to £36,474.96 on completion of training, plus bonus and Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week - 7.30 - 16.30 Mon - Thu, 7.30 - 14.00 Fri with half an hour unpaid lunch and standby rota

To report to the Unit Controller/Deputy Unit Controller with responsibility for the operational control of the Process Units within the Tay contract and associated sites, so as to meet all operating targets as defined in the operating contract. To perform a range of assigned activities, responsibilities including the running of a Seghers dryer BFPs, GBTs Centrifuges and all processes required to run a STC building. SCADA checks laboratory sampling, testing, routine plant and network checks, first line maintenance and problem solving to ensure that services are delivered to time, cost and quality standards. To ensure all statutory Quality and Safety policies and regulations are satisfied, and that all company policies are implemented and maintained.

What will you be doing?

• Carry out and report on a range of activities within established procedures monitor, test and analyse service performance and compliance with regulatory and business standards
• Ensure equipment and resources are used, maintained and replaced appropriately to meet business standards
• Carry out a range of routine activities to time and quality standards to ensure the smooth running of the overall process on a day to day basis
• Support of planned maintenance system
• PPM and Task spec completion
• Critical DATA input

What are we looking for?
