Job summary

Veolia in Hatton and Scotland sites is seeking an experienced Operative to join our team and help operate the Tay contract processes to meet quality and cost targets. You will report to the Unit Controller and handle dryer, centrifuge and related system operations.

The role includes SCADA checks, lab sampling, routine maintenance and timely data entry. Working hours are 40 per week: 7:30–16:30 Monday to Thursday, 7:30–14:00 Friday, with a paid lunch and standby rota.

Qualifications

  • SVQ 3 Wastewater management or willing to achieve.
  • Driving licence is essential.
  • Experience in wastewater or similar process environment.
  • Operator/manufacturing knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Run Seghers dryer BFPs, GBTs Centrifuges and associated processes.
  • Perform SCADA checks, laboratory sampling and testing.
  • Carry out routine plant and network checks and first-line maintenance.
  • Support maintenance system and complete PPM and task specs.
  • Input critical data accurately to monitor performance.

Salary: £29,831.33 rising to £36,474.96 on completion of training, plus bonus and Veolia benefits

To report to the Unit Controller/Deputy Unit Controller with responsibility for the operational control of the Process Units within the Tay contract and associated sites, so as to meet all operating targets as defined in the operating contract. To perform a range of assigned activities, responsibilities including the running of a Seghers dryer BFPs, GBTs Centrifuges and all processes required to run a STC building. SCADA checks laboratory sampling, testing, routine plant and network checks, first line maintenance and problem solving to ensure that services are delivered to time, cost and quality standards. To ensure all statutory Quality and Safety policies and regulations are satisfied, and that all company policies are implemented and maintained.

What will you be doing?
  • Carry out and report on a range of activities within established procedures monitor, test and analyse service performance and compliance with regulatory and business standards
  • Ensure equipment and resources are used, maintained and replaced appropriately to meet business standards
  • Carry out a range of routine activities to time and quality standards to ensure the smooth running of the overall process on a day to day basis
  • Support of planned maintenance system
  • PPM and Task spec completion
  • Critical DATA input
What are we looking for?
  • Driving licence is essential
  • Working Safely, Issuing Permits to Work, Experience working with Confined Space Regulations etc.
  • Problem Solving particularly in a wastewater environment or similar process related industry.
  • SVQ 3 Wastewater management or willing to achieve
  • Operator/Manufacturing Knowledge
