A leading food manufacturing company is seeking a Raw Material Technologist for its Wembley site. The role involves managing supplier approvals, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring specifications for raw materials are maintained. The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Supply Chain Manager and participate in audits and feasibility meetings, offering an excellent opportunity for candidates with FMCG experience.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Raw Material Technologist to join the team at our Wembley site.

Job Purpose:

  • The Raw Material Manager will be directly responsible to the Technical Supply Chain Manager and in the absence of the Technical Supply Chain Manager to the Site Technical Controller.
  • Working closely with the Technical Supply Chain Manager in managing and keeping up to date Katsouris Brothers supplier approval systems for safety, legality, quality and authenticity.

Main Duties:

  • Carrying out supplier approvals and risk assessments for all raw materials used by Katsouris Brothers Ltd.
  • Ensuring all supplier approvals are correct and up to date.
  • Ensure all raw materials specifications are accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting the Technical Supply Chain Manager with any customer queries regarding specifications and supplier assessment forms.
  • Risk-assess processing details for all raw materials; complete the risk assessment and communicate to relevant departments.
  • Support the Technical Supply Chain Manager to manage supplier approval for all Katsouris Sites.
  • Keep relevant factory paperwork up to date such as the approved supplier list.
  • Carry out preliminary approval of new / concept raw material with NPD prior use.
  • Attend all NPD feasibility meetings and actively participate as part of the technical team.
  • Work closely with the Process & Specifications Manager to ensure correct information is transferred to both customer and Cypressa specifications.
  • Manage and update the raw material data base. Work closely with all Katsouris sites to ensure up to date approved supplier list is always in use.
  • Be involved with the Technical Supply Chain Manager or when required to lead supply chain traceability exercises.
  • Be involved in customer, second- and third-party audits.
  • Be involved and / or carry out supplier audits.

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

  • Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related)
  • Previous experience with supplier approvals; carrying out risk assessments and understand specifications
  • Excellent level of literacy
