Job summary

Alzheimer's Society is seeking a warm, organised Rare Dementia Adviser for the Rare Dementia Support partnership.基The role is based at the Hilary and Galen Weston Rare Dementia Support Centre, with a 35-hour weekly, permanent contract. It involves regular travel across the Bloomsbury, London area, delivering information, guidance and reassurance to people living with rare dementia and their carers.

Qualifications

• Understanding rare dementia or willingness to learn about it.
• Experience providing information, guidance, advice or emotional support.
• Excellent listening and communication skills to build trust with diverse people.
• Experience collaborating with professionals and external organisations.
• Ability to manage workload, balance priorities and work independently.
• Confident with IT systems and maintaining confidential records.
• Compassionate, non-judgemental, person-centred approach, respecting diversity.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with people living with rare dementia and carers.
• Provide personalised information, advice and emotional support.
• Deliver support in person, by phone, online and through partnerships.
• Participate in triage for new referrals and manage caseloads.
• Signpost to relevant services and resources to reduce isolation.
• Work with the partnership to develop services and practice.
• Facilitate peer support groups and represent the organisation at events.
