Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an organized administrator to join Basildon Hospital, supporting rapid diagnostic pathways for suspected cancer. You will coordinate pathways, monitor bookings and ensure targets are achieved across Basildon, Southend and Maldon sites, using on-site and remote digital systems.

The role requires strong administrative experience in healthcare, excellent MS Office skills, and a patient-centred approach to communication.

Qualifications

• Significant administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience using hospital administration systems.
• Ability to produce accurate, well-presented work in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Be a single point of contact for patients throughout their diagnostic journey.
• Communicate empathetically with patients and carers by phone or in person.
• Coordinate assessments, investigations and appointments.
• Coordinate transfer of care between service teams and across interfaces of care.
• Refer and signpost to clinical teams as appropriate.
