Job summary

Menzies Aviation in the United Kingdom is seeking personnel for ramp and baggage handling roles. The position involves supporting flight operations, performing inspections, and ensuring health and safety standards across all activities.

You will work as part of a team to deliver reliable services at our locations, including winter de-icing where required, while adhering to company policies and procedures and maintaining a high level of operational discipline.

Qualifications

• Five-year work/unemployment/education history required.
• Valid passport.
• Proof of National Insurance.
• Proof of address.
• Full and valid UK Driving Licence.
• Criminal Record Check and Airside Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake baggage sortation duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Carry out area hazard checks and aircraft inspections.
• Conduct equipment inspections (pre-trip, daily & weekly).
• Report faults or irregularities to Management.
• Carry out towing, pushback & headset duties with flight deck communication.
• Operate position and remove relevant GSE safely as trained.
• Provide de-icing to customer airlines during winter operations.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Team Leader, BOH Supervisor & BOH Duty Manager. Delivering high performance standards around all aspects of ramp and baggage handling, meeting the requirements of our customers and maintaining health and safety and overall good working practices in accordance to company policies and procedures at all times.

What you will be doing

• Undertake all relevant baggage sortation duties in a safe and efficient manner, setting up flights, using BRS & Brock scanner where required.
• Carry out area hazard checks.
• Carry out aircraft inspections.
• Carry out equipment inspections, pre-trip, daily & weekly.
• Report any faults or irregularities with equipment, facilities or processes to the appropriate Management.
• Carry out Towing, Pushback & Head-set duties, including communication with the flight deck, in accordance with the relevant training received.
• Operate position and remove all relevant company GSE required for our customer airlines, in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with the relevant training received.
• During winter operation provide de-icing to customer airlines in accordance with the relevant training received.
