Job summary

Alstom is seeking technicians for routine maintenance, fault finding, and safe operation of Aventra Units at Ilford Depot, with occasional work at Willesden TMD. You will ensure accurate documentation, identify outstanding work, and support continuous improvement under the Shift Production Manager.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality standards within a cutting-edge rail environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required.
• Hands-on maintenance experience on rolling stock preferred.
• Ability to read maintenance instructions and follow procedures.
• Proven fault-finding skills on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong documentation to ensure shift validation and traceability.
• Safety-critical competencies and adherence to H&S policies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and fault finding on Aventra Units.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation before Shift Production Manager validation.
• Identify outstanding work and coordinate with the Shift Production Manager.
• Operate powered plant, lifting and handling equipment.
• Report process or tooling issues to management for immediate action.
• Coach staff on safe working practices and quality standards.
