Job summary

Navartis Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Technician/Mechanical Fitter in Leeds for a permanent role within a busy rail vehicle maintenance facility. The position offers an excellent chance to work on large diesel-powered equipment and rolling stock, alongside candidates from HGV, bus, automotive, plant and military engineering backgrounds.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, performing planned and reactive maintenance, and ensuring all work meets high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV Maintenance, Bus & Coach Engineering, Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Strong hands-on mechanical experience essential
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering instructions

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults efficiently and safely
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Inspect, repair and overhaul mechanical systems and components
• Work from technical drawings, manuals and maintenance documentation
• Ensure all work is completed to high quality and safety standards
• Take ownership of jobs from diagnosis through to completion
