Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Transportation PDP is seeking a Project Manager to lead railway and transit infrastructure projects from feasibility to delivery, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and engaging with clients across the UK and Ireland.

The role offers home-based work in Manchester with travel across the UK and Ireland, and a strong focus on governance, commercial management, and risk control within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale railway/transport projects.
• Strong governance, commercial management and risk handling skills.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from feasibility to detailed design, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence and quality standards.
• Build, motivate, coach and develop project teams to achieve objectives.
• Plan resource needs with managers to ensure right skills and alignment on scope, timelines and costs.
• Monitor progress and report on programme, quality, financials, and KPIs.
• Ensure governance and compliance with standards; manage risks and contract changes.
• Engage with clients as main point of contact, developing relationships and identifying opportunities for future work.
• Occasionally act as Bid Manager to win new projects in collaboration with Market teams.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the wider project management community.
