Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a permanent Commercial Manager to join the Rail Systems business in the UK. You will oversee commercial performance across a portfolio of design and build rail projects, ensure robust contract management, cost control and value optimisation, and drive opportunities with clients while managing risk.

The role reports to the Senior Commercial Manager and requires extensive experience in a consultancy or contractor environment within UK Rail or infrastructure, with NEC4

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial management of rail or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of NEC4 contracts preferred.
• Ability to manage change control and claims.
• Experience in client engagement and bid support.

Responsibilities

• Ensure successful bidding and delivery of commercial performance within a range of contracts / projects, safeguarding the interests of the business.
• Relationship management with clients, driving resolution of project-level issues and realisation of opportunities.
• Lead Commercial support on and delivery on projects and be an integral member of the Commercial team, supporting business objectives and KPIs.
• Implementation of effective commercial controls across the portfolio ensuring efficiency and accuracy of data.
• Support the resolution of claims and disputes.
• Review and negotiate main and sub-contract terms, managing risk and approvals.
• Support strategic bids in negotiations and dialogue with clients and sub-contractors, ensuring contracts align with group requirements.
• Promote compliance with governance processes and procedures.
• Lead and develop a commercial team to meet objectives and grow.
