Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is recruiting a permanent Commercial Manager to join their Rail Systems business, overseeing the commercial performance of design and build rail projects across a growing portfolio.

You will lead on contract management, cost control, risk and change management, working with client relationships and strategic bids. The role supports flexible, hybrid working across multiple UK offices within a regulated rail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in consultancy or contractor environments within UK Rail or infrastructure.
• Experience with public sector procurement processes.
• Knowledge of change control and claims management.
• Ability to lead a commercial team and develop surveyors.
• Understanding of commercial processes, cost control and contract administration.
• Qualifications: Degree and/or professional qualification (RICS, CICES).

Responsibilities

• Ensure successful bidding and delivery of commercial performance within contracts/projects.
• Relationship management with clients and realisation of opportunities.
• Lead Commercial support on projects and be integral to the Commercial team.
• Implement effective commercial controls across the portfolio ensuring data accuracy.
• Support the resolution of claims and disputes.
• Review and negotiate main and sub-contract terms and conditions; manage risk.
• Support strategic bids in negotiations with clients and sub-contractors; ensure contracts align with group requirements.
• Promote compliance with governance processes and procedures.
• Lead and develop a commercial team to ensure objectives are met.
