Job summary

CAF Rail UK is seeking an Overhaul Technician in Manchester to disassemble, clean, inspect, repair and re-assemble bogies and wheelsets in line with CAF procedures. You will perform basic electrical and pneumatic disconnections, functional testing and support non-destructive inspections to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or higher in a mechanical/electrical discipline.
• Proven experience in heavy engineering rail or similar.
• Hands-on overhaul, assembly and testing of large components like bogies and wheelsets.
• Experience with lifting equipment and precision measurements.
• Ability to interpret drawings and inspection standards.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair and assemble bogies and wheelsets.
• Perform basic electrical and pneumatic disconnections and testing.
• Support non-destructive inspections and maintain safety/5S culture.
• Collaborate with production team to meet delivery and quality targets.
