Job summary

WSP is seeking a Deputy Business Development Director – Rail: Place and Regional Development in the UK. You will lead rail engagement with place-led development, linking rail propositions to housing, regeneration and economic growth across the UK.

You will build relationships with mayoral authorities and regional bodies, shape opportunities, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to convert market intelligence into a sustainable pipeline. Occasional travel across the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in rail or transport infrastructure.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to translate policy and market insight into opportunities.
• Experience with public-sector clients and complex governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement with place-based and regional development authorities across the UK.
• Develop integrated rail propositions linked to housing, regeneration, skills and decarbonisation outcomes.
• Build senior relationships with mayoral authorities, local government and regional transport bodies.
• Convert market intelligence into a prioritized pipeline and pursue opportunities.
