Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate/Associate Director - Systems to provide senior technical leadership for rail systems, integration and multidisciplinary coordination on complex UK infrastructure programmes. You will advise clients, support full lifecycle delivery from concept to commissioning, and help grow WSP's rail business in the UK.

Qualifications

• Proven rail/metro infrastructure experience in the UK.
• Track record in systems engineering, integration, or design assurance on complex projects.
• Experience across full lifecycle: design, construction, commissioning.
• Experience with major UK clients (Network Rail, HS2, etc.).
• Strong client-facing skills to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on large infrastructure programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering and integration across major UK rail and metro programmes.
• Provide technical leadership and assurance across design, integration and delivery phases.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients including Network Rail and HS2.
• Oversee definition and management of system requirements across teams.
• Coordinate interfaces across rail systems, civils, MEP, rolling stock, operations.
• Apply systems engineering best practices, including digital/model-based approaches.
• Lead technical reviews, assurance processes and governance frameworks.
• Manage stakeholder relationships with clients, contractors and regulators.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities to support delivery.
• Contribute to business development, bids, and work-winning.
• Mentor and develop high-performing teams within rail systems.
