Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Deputy Business Development Director – Rail: Place and Regional Development to lead Rail's engagement with the place and regional development agenda across the UK. You will build trusted relationships and shape opportunities that connect rail investment with housing, regeneration and economic growth.

Reporting to the Business Development Director – Rail, you will coordinate across internal capabilities, engage with mayoral authorities and regional bodies, and

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within rail or wider transport infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of UK devolution, local government and regional transport.
• Proven ability to convert client relationships and policy insight into opportunities.
• Excellent stakeholder management with complex public-sector clients.
• Strategic thinker with capability to connect rail investment to place-based outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement with the UK place and regional development agenda.
• Build relationships with mayoral authorities, combined authorities, local authorities and regional transport bodies.
• Identify opportunities and shape capture plans to convert market intelligence into activity.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated rail propositions across capabilities.
