Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join its rail engineering team in Milton Keynes. You will carry out the complete overhaul of passenger trains, installing interiors, fit-outs and associated components from engineering drawings, using hand and power tools.

The role requires experience in carpentry or interior fit-out, with flexibility to work early/late shifts and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Carpentry or a relevant discipline.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to pass a medical and drug & alcohol screening.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings or detailed instructions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the assembly and fitting of components to rail vehicles.
• Install and fit passenger interiors, flooring, seating, panels and other passenger comfort and safety equipment.
• Complete carpentry and interior fit-out work to a high standard.
• Work from engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and to the required quality standards.
• Work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
