Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking an experienced Shop Fitter to transfer install and fit-out skills into the rail industry at Milton Keynes. You will join a skilled engineering team to overhaul passenger trains, installing interior components to high standards.

Experience with interiors, fixtures, fittings and panels is ideal. The role involves reading drawings and using hand/power tools, with opportunities to work independently or in a team, on rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Shop Fitting, Joinery, Carpentry or a relevant discipline.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to pass a medical and drug & alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the assembly and fitting of components to rail vehicles.
• Install and fit interior panels, flooring, seating and passenger comfort equipment.
• Carry out detailed interior fit-out and installation work.
• Work from engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Complete accurate fitting, adjustment and assembly work.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and finish.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.
