Job summary

Siemens Mobility in the UK is recruiting a Construction Manager to lead safe and efficient delivery of rail infrastructure construction projects in Birmingham. You will manage planning, installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, quality and cost objectives are met while building strong customer and contractor relationships.

The role requires proven rail project experience, strong leadership and project controls, and an engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing construction, installation or infrastructure projects within rail.
• Strong project and contract management skills including planning, budgeting, risk management and change control.
• Excellent leadership and negotiation skills with stakeholders across customers, suppliers and teams.
• Demonstrable commitment to health, safety and environmental excellence.
• IRSE licence or equivalent signalling/civil engineering competence.
• Degree-qualified in engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of construction and installation activities, managing project teams, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve safety, quality, programme and cost objectives.
• Drive effective project controls across planning, budgeting, reporting, risk management and resource utilisation.
• Build strong relationships with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders as the primary site contact.
• Champion a positive safety and environmental culture, ensuring compliance with procedures and standards.
• Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance, conduct audits and inspections for quality.
• Oversee site progress through to completion and handover with clear leadership and communication.
