Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Fleet Support Technician (Decision Support Technician) on a 12-month fixed term contract. Role pays £32,000 basic salary with a 20% shift allowance (£38,400 equivalent).

3 x 12-hour shifts on a 24/7 rotating pattern, working mainly from a control room to support a modern passenger rail fleet. You will fault-find, diagnose faults, coordinate with drivers, controllers, and maintenance teams, produce reports, and help keep services

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, maintenance, technical support, or operational environment.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of electrical, mechanical, or vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to train faults and service disruptions.
• Provide technical support and fault diagnosis.
• Coordinate with operational and maintenance teams.
• Log and analyse faults using maintenance systems.
• Support fleet reliability and performance improvements.
• Produce reports and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met.
