Job summary

CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) in the UK seeks an engineering technician to diagnose faults and perform root cause analysis on a range of train systems. You will use electrical schematics, diagnostic software and test equipment to ensure trains are maintained to high safety and reliability standards.

You will perform corrective actions and repairs on new trains in a depot, with shift patterns including weekends and both day and night duties, to keep passenger services

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years post-apprenticeship experience in fault detection and root cause analysis.
• Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform root cause analysis on an advanced fleet across electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Carry out corrective actions and repairs on new trains in a depot to ensure passenger service availability and reliability.
