Job summary
CAF Rail UK in Chester is seeking an technically skilled engineer to diagnose faults and perform root cause analysis across electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on a modern train fleet. You will use electrical schematics, diagnostic software and test equipment to implement corrective actions and repairs in a depot setting to keep services running.
A NVQ Level 3 in electrical/mechanical engineering and 3 years post-apprenticeship experience are required, with a valid driver's license and
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in electrical/ mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience.
- Experience detecting faults and carrying out root cause analysis across multiple systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and use diagnostic software.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and conduct root cause analysis for an advanced fleet across electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Perform corrective actions and repairs on new trains in a depot to ensure passenger service availability.
- Utilize electrical schematics, diagnostic software and test equipment to support maintenance.
