Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick is seeking an experienced Section Engineer for the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) railway framework. Based in Gravesend, you will lead on-site engineering activities within the Earthworks team, coordinating delivery across Kent and supporting project controls, safety and quality.

You will enjoy ownership of technical decisions, stakeholder engagement and opportunities to develop leadership skills while contributing to a long-term rail infrastructure programme with Network

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience supervising engineering activities and coordinating site operations.
• Good understanding of construction techniques and project delivery processes.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to interpret design information and resolve technical issues on site.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous rail or earthworks experience.
• Knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures.
• CSCS card.
• Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor training.
• Professional membership with ICE or similar institution is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities on site and coordinate earthworks and railway infrastructure delivery.
• Support the delivery of projects across Kent and engage with stakeholders and clients.
• Contribute to project controls, safety, quality and environmental management.
• Develop technical leadership and contribute to chartership and professional development.
