Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide route-wide engineering oversight across an ~82km section of a major UK rail infrastructure programme, between Great Missenden and Southam. The role spans structures, highways and earthworks, collaborating with construction, engineering and commercial teams.

You will mentor Project Engineers and interact with contractors, subcontractors and senior stakeholders to resolve complex issues, manage technical change and ensure contractual

Qualifications

• Experience delivering engineering within major civil engineering, rail, highways or infrastructure construction.
• Strong understanding of construction stages, technical assurance and contracts.
• Ability to challenge contractors and senior stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
• Good commercial awareness and ability to work with commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide route-wide engineering oversight across ~82km of infrastructure works.
• Manage complex technical issues and changes during construction.
• Review technical queries and ensure proper technical assurance is completed.
• Work with contractors, subcontractors and senior stakeholders.
• Understand commercial and contractual implications of engineering decisions.
• Coordinate engineering matters across structures, highways, earthworks and other disciplines.
• Identify issues with potential route-wide impact and drive resolution.
• Support and mentor Project Engineers and less experienced colleagues.
