Job summary

DB Cargo UK is recruiting an Operations Supervisor in the Hinksey area (Oxfordshire) to join our groundstaff team. You will oversee the preparations of our trains, manage day-to-day depot operations and lead Drivers and Mobile Operatives to meet customer needs.

The role requires strong people management, forward planning and problem-solving skills, with a 5-week training course and ongoing development. Some travel to other sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in people management and supervisory roles.
• Able to problem solve effectively and communicate clearly.
• Willing to travel occasionally to other DB Cargo UK sites.
• Background in rail, logistics or safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee train preparations and day-to-day depot operations.
• Manage Drivers, Mobile Operatives and Terminal Support Workers.
• Plan site operations with the Operations Manager to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate rostering to ensure adequate staffing for each shift.
• Liaise with engineering teams to report defects and ensure safe departures.
