Job summary

DB Cargo UK in West London is recruiting a Rail Mobile Operative to join our groundstaff team. You will be on the go daily, preparing trains, carrying out essential safety checks, and ensuring locomotives and wagons are fit to run on the mainline.

We provide a five-week training course to get you ready, with a starting salary of £30,412 per year plus a shift allowance of £3,936. The role includes 31 days leave, a defined contribution pension, and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a safety-focused approach and be able to follow directions from management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible shift pattern.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for coordinating with drivers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare trains and perform essential safety checks to ensure trains are fit to run.
• Dispatch trains safely and efficiently, liaising with Drivers and Operations Supervisors.
• Contribute to service delivery and support multiple DB Cargo UK sites and worksites.
