Job summary

DB Cargo UK Limited in the Hinksey area is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee train preparations, day-to-day depot operations and the teams of Drivers and Mobile Operatives. You will manage staff across shifts, plan site operations with the Operations Manager, ensure safety checks are completed to high standards, liaise with engineering teams and act as PIC of the depot.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a valid manual driving license.
• Live within a 1-hour commute of the central hub location for the area.
• A-Levels or equivalent
• Previous Team Leader/Supervisory role
• Be committed to learning in a classroom-based environment through training (5-week course)

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of Drivers, Mobile Operatives and Terminal Support Workers to ensure trains depart safely and efficiently.
• Plan site operations with the Operations Manager and rostering teams.
• Ensure safety checks are completed to the highest standards before a train departs.
• Liaise with engineering teams to report defects and ensure safe mainline operations.
• Act as PIC (person in charge) of the depot and enforce depot rules and PPE compliance.
