Job summary

DB Cargo UK is recruiting an Operations Supervisor in the Hinksey area to join our depot operations team in Oxfordshire. You will supervise drivers, mobile operatives and terminal staff, plan daily site operations and ensure trains depart safely and efficiently, liaising with engineering to report defects and maintain mainline safety.

The role requires experience in team leadership, strong planning and communication skills, and a willingness to travel to other DB Cargo UK sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in people management within a safety‑critical environment.
• Ability to plan ahead and coordinate multiple trains and staff.
• Strong communication and team leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drivers, Mobile Operatives and Terminal Support Workers on shift.
• Plan site operations with Operations Manager to ensure safe, efficient departures.
• Ensure safety checks are completed to the highest standards before trains depart.
• Liaise with engineering teams to report defects and ensure mainline safety.
• Manage rostering and staffing levels to meet depot needs across shifts.
