Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Project Commercial Director to lead the commercial function on a nationally significant defence infrastructure programme valued at about £3 billion. You will shape commercial strategy, governance, risk and stakeholder management, while directing a large team across complex civil works.

Ideally you bring extensive Tier 1 contractor experience, a track record of leading large-scale infrastructure ventures, and the ability to influence executives and supply chains at

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is required.
• Experience leading commercial teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in building projects, structures and infrastructure delivery.
• Experience in regulated or secure environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic commercial leadership across a major £3bn programme.
• Lead governance, contract performance and risk management.
• Oversee cost management, cash flow and margin protection.
• Negotiate with clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Drive digital transformation and continuous improvement in the commercial function.
• Support bids, opportunities and programme growth initiatives.
• Develop and mentor high-performing commercial teams across projects.
