Job summary

Matchtech seeks a PTS Site Engineer to support civil engineering works on a major rail infrastructure project in Suffolk. The role focuses on setting out, site engineering control, QA and technical support to maintain programme, safety and compliance.

You will carry out setting out for earthworks, drainage, foundations and concrete, maintain RAMS and ITP records, and liaise with designers, site teams and subcontractors to keep works on track and compliant.

Qualifications

• PTS certification is essential.
• Experience as a Site Engineer on civil/rail projects.
• Proficient in setting-out equipment and surveying principles.
• Strong QA/ITP process knowledge and record-keeping.
• Ability to read construction drawings and schedules.
• Excellent communication with site teams and stakeholders.
• Understanding of HSQE requirements on regulated sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out for civils works (earthworks, drainage, foundations, concrete, ducting).
• Establish and maintain site control, survey checks and as-built records.
• Provide daily engineering support to site supervisors and forepersons.
• Complete QA documentation including ITPs and inspections.
• Interpret drawings and raise RFIs with designers and project team.
• Support temporary works processes and permits coordination.
• Maintain engineering documents, RAMS, site diaries and take-offs.
• Coordinate with survey teams, subcontractors and suppliers to stay on programme.
