Job summary

Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT is seeking a Trainee Assistant Practitioner in Radiology based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. You will support imaging services by performing radiographic procedures under supervision, helping ensure safe and timely examinations.

Appointments progress from Band 3 to Band 4 after completing the 24-month Higher Apprenticeship TAP programme. The post requires flexible working across sites and a seven-day shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital setting or community health and social care setting in a clinical role.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team in health/social care setting.
• Mentoring/supporting junior colleagues.
• Evidence of involvement in service improvement or area of interest/expertise.

Responsibilities

• Undertake radiographic examinations under supervision in General Radiography.
• Maintain safe working environment and use X-ray equipment correctly.
• Explain procedures clearly while maintaining patient dignity and safety.
• Assess patients' clinical needs to obtain diagnostic-quality images first time.
• Assist radiographers, radiologists and sonographers during sessions.
