Job summary

Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking Radiology Department Assistants to join the team, primarily based at Whiston and St Helens sites. The roles involve 37.5 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays to support a 7-day imaging service.

You will assist qualified staff in radiographic, CT and MRI procedures, help with patient care, iv cannulation and clerical duties, and work proactively to ensure high standards of care and efficient imaging

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in care or equivalent experience in Radiology.
• Previous care work is desirable.
• IT literacy and data entry skills to support imaging workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist Radiology staff during imaging examinations.
• Prepare imaging rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Assist in IV cannulation and contrast preparation.
• Coordinate inpatient transfer to imaging and ensure safe patient care.
• Maintain accurate data entry in the Radiology Information System.
• Support in teaching and induction of junior staff.
