Job summary

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Radiology Clinical Assistant to support radiographers, radiologists and sonographers across MRI, CT and ultrasound services. You will help with patient preparation, movement, safety in MRI, room preparation and equipment restocking.

You'll need strong organisation, communication, and a patient‑focused approach, with willingness to travel across Trust sites and work flexible shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Good general education – 4 GCSEs A-C or equivalent.
• NVQ level 2 or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Support patients before, during and after examinations.
• Assist with patient preparation and moving and handling.
• Maintain a safe MRI environment and prepare clinical areas.
• Restock equipment and assist with sterile and non-sterile procedures.
• Chaperone during intimate examinations and portering when required.
• Book appointments and coordinate lists.
• Prioritise workload and communicate with the radiology team.
