Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust within a multi-site radiology department is seeking a Senior Radiology Assistant. The role rotates across Aintree, Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen sites, supporting radiographers, sonographers and radiologists in patient care and imaging procedures.

Key duties include setting up procedures, post-procedure aftercare, chaperoning, and providing patient support.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in Healthcare.
• Understanding of direct patient care.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate with patients and staff.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willingness to undertake training to meet competencies.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients within the department and ensure comfort and wellbeing.
• Assist in undressing and redressing patients.
• Help patients use toilet facilities as appropriate.
• Assist patients on and off ultrasound tables before/after procedures.
• Communicate with patients and staff to share concerns and information.
• Collect, collate and file patient documentation.
• Input/retrieve patient information in radiology systems.
• Set up and assist with interventional procedures as required.
