RADIOLOGY RECEPTIONIST - 30 Hours per week
(08:00 hrs - 14:00 or 14:00 hrs - 20:00 hrs Monday to Friday rotational shift pattern)
We are looking for a highly motivated Receptionist to join our administrative team.
Candidates should have excellent literacy and communication skills and be able to work on own initiative as well as under supervision. You should be self motivated, enthusiastic, energetic and be accepting of changes in the work place. Knowledge of Microsoft applications and previous clerical and data input experience is essential.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake a range of duties and should be well organised and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of staff groups and sensitive to the needs of patients. They must be a team player who is energetic, enthusiastic, acceptable of change and able to work well under pressure in a busy environment as well as being able to work using their own initiative.
Computer literacy and experience in using Excel and other Microsoft Office packages is an essential requirement of this post as is the ability to work accurately whilst maintaining a calm and professional attitude. Training on in-house systems will be provided.
To participate in all queries from patients, visitors, and medical staff as a first line of contact in a clinical environment.
- To participate in all aspects of the administration service within Radiology.
- To work in offices or receptions in Radiology departments ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’.
- To ensure the care and comfort of patients and carers whilst in the Department whilst manning reception desks.
- To maintain and upload information onto supporting databases linked to patient pathways, recording investigations and relevant radiological information.
- To make appointments for patients using the Radiology Information System and sending out appointment letters and appropriate documentation.
- To prepare all Consultant and Practitioner lists for Screening, Ultrasound, CT and Nuclear Medicine for both in-patient and out-patient sessions.
- To deal with telephone enquiries from patients, GPs, Consultants and other staff disciplines.
- Provide clerical support to the Radiology Nurses.
- Provide clerical support to the Radiology Secretaries.
