Job summary

Spire Norwich Hospital is seeking a Radiology Assistant to join the Imaging Department on a permanent, part-time basis (Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus a half day as needed). The role supports the radiology team across MRI, CT and interventional procedures, delivering excellent patient care in a busy diagnostic environment.

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) or Radiology Assistant within a clinical or acute healthcare setting.
• Ability to work effectively with limited direct supervision.
• Experience preparing and supporting MRI and CT lists.
• Experience coordinating patient flow within a clinical environment.
• Experience assisting with interventional procedures.
• Experience using IEP and providing IT support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A caring and compassionate approach to patient care.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A flexible, professional and organised approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Support patients undergoing a range of imaging investigations.
• Prepare and support MRI and CT lists, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.
• Coordinate patient flow across the department to support efficient clinical lists and a positive patient experience.
• Assist Radiographers and other clinical colleagues with interventional procedures.
• Assist with patient care, observation and monitoring throughout their visit.
• Identify and escalate any significant changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate healthcare professional.
• Assist with the safe movement and positioning of patients in line with hospital policies and procedures.
• Prepare clinical areas and ensure equipment and rooms are maintained to a high standard.
• Provide IEP and IT support as required within the department.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
• Deliver exceptional patient care and contribute to a positive patient experience.
• Work confidently and effectively with limited direct supervision.

Spire Norwich Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Radiology Assistant to join our Imaging Department on a permanent, part-time basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a half day any other potential day of the week.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant or Radiology Assistant looking to develop their career within a supportive and dynamic diagnostic environment, working across areas including MRI, CT and interventional procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Radiology Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their diagnostic journey, working closely with our Radiographers and Specialist Radiographers to deliver an outstanding patient experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting patients undergoing a range of imaging investigations.
• Preparing and supporting MRI and CT lists, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.
• Coordinating patient flow across the department to support efficient clinical lists and a positive patient experience.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and patient-focused individual who can work effectively within a busy Radiology and Imaging environment.

Essential Requirements

You will have:

• Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) or Radiology Assistant within a clinical or acute healthcare setting, ideally within Imaging or Radiology.
• The ability to work effectively with limited direct supervision.
• Experience preparing and supporting MRI and CT lists.
• Experience supporting and coordinating patient flow within a clinical environment.
• Experience assisting with interventional procedures.
• Experience using IEP and the confidence to provide relevant IT support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A caring and compassionate approach to patient care.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A flexible, professional and organised approach to work.

Highly Desirable

• Cannulation skills and previous cannulation experience.
• NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a health-related subject.

Working Hours

Permanent Contract

Part-time: 18.75 hours per week, including rotational weekends

Working hours will be discussed at interview and will be based on departmental requirements, with shifts typically worked between 8:00am and 8:00pm, Monday to Sunday.
