Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Upper GI Imaging for a busy department, predominantly based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Responsibilities span both sites with involvement in the Cancer MDT and inflammatory bowel imaging.

A second subspecialty interest can be accommodated; fluoroscopic skills are advantageous, with ultrasound biopsy and drains welcomed.

Qualifications

• Specialist interest in Upper GI Imaging.
• Fluoroscopic skills would be an advantage.
• Experience in ultrasound biopsy and drains welcomed.
• Post includes sessions at two main hospital sites with flexible group job planning.

Responsibilities

• Share in general imaging workload and support tumour-specific reporting using PACS.
• Report general radiographic examinations at main sites and community locations.
• Maintain general Radiology practice while contributing to sub-specialty areas.
• Work flexibly and participate in the on-call rota; some overnight on-call is outsourced.
• Involve in organisation and administration of Radiology, teaching, and clinico-radiological meetings.
• Assist in training junior radiology staff and support multidisciplinary colleagues.
