Job summary

McLaren Racing Ltd in the United Kingdom seeks a skilled design engineer to shape composite and metallic race car components for the new car and in-season upgrades. You will create concepts and detailed designs, and develop tooling and test jigs.

You’ll lead projects, collaborate across teams, and apply CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE, working to high-performance standards in a fast-paced Formula 1 environment.

Qualifications

• Proven design experience with composite race car components and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience in Formula 1 or similarly fast-paced high-performance design environments.
• Strong knowledge of composite and metallic materials with broad design skills across car systems.
• CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE proficiency; good Word and Excel skills.
• Degree, HNC or similar qualification in mechanical engineering is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create conceptual and detailed designs for composite and metallic race car components, tooling, jig parts and test jigs.
• Lead design projects from brief through delivery, working accurately and at pace.
• Investigate reliability issues and design effective solutions.
• Lead projects or small teams and supervise junior team members when required.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to priority projects across the car using established processes.
