Job summary

Fortescue Zero Racing is seeking a skilled Race Engineer to join our cutting-edge team. You will be responsible for a team's car at race events, manage setup and run plans, and liaise with drivers and engineers to push performance boundaries.

You will coordinate track tests and simulator sessions, collaborating with Performance, Controls, Systems, Tyre, Strategy and other trackside engineers to optimise the car. Travel and long hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Previous race engineering experience in FE/F1/WEC.
• Proficient with data analysis – ATLAS an advantage.
• Familiarity with programming and analysis software e.g. Matlab.
• Excellent knowledge of tyres, vehicle dynamics & aerodynamics; experience with performance control systems an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for one of the teams’ cars at race events, coordinating with driver and engineers to set up the car and run plan.
• Coordinate track test and simulator sessions to maximise learning.
• Work with Performance, Controls, Systems, Tyre and Strategy engineers to optimise the car.
• Maintain up-to-date car setup records and driver feedback.
• Ensure car legality at race events with proper paperwork.
• Use simulation tools to identify performance gains.
• Perform post-event data and performance analysis with reports.
• Lead a team of mechanics at events, promoting teamwork and communication.
• Organise and attend rig tests providing engineering support.
