Job summary

Fortescue Zero Racing is seeking a Race Engineer to maximise performance at race and test events, and to build on the team’s capabilities. You will be responsible for a car at events, coordinating track tests, analysing data, and leading mechanics on-site.

The role requires strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, proficiency in data tools, and willingness to travel extensively over weekends. Fortescue Rugby-style commitment to performance is central.

Qualifications

• Experience as a race engineer at FE/F1/WEC levels.
• Degree in mechanical/automotive engineering; Masters preferred.
• Strong data analysis skills; ATLAS experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of tyres, vehicle dynamics and aerodynamics.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for one of the team’s cars at race events and communicate with the driver and crew.
• Coordinate track tests and simulator sessions to maximise learning.
• Analyse post-event data and prepare reports for performance reviews.
• Lead a team of mechanics at events and ensure efficient teamwork.
