Job summary

Change Grow Live in Manchester is seeking a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor to deliver high‑quality stop smoking services across the region. You will work face‑to‑face in the community, at organisations, or remotely, as part of a specialist team.

The role requires experience in health or social care, knowledge of smoking cessation, and the ability to assess and tailor interventions. Full-time, fixed-term 12 months, with a focus on improving health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience in health/social care settings and knowledge of smoking harms.
• Awareness of national policies shaping smoking cessation services.
• In-depth knowledge of stop smoking treatments and interventions.
• Experience in assessments and delivering tailored interventions.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and comply with policy changes.
• Commitment to training and developing professionally.
• Proficiency with MS Office and electronic recording systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote stop smoking services across multiple venues and events.
• Deliver brief advice and structured programmes to diverse populations.
• Work with NRT, varenicline, and e‑cigarette protocols.
• Tailor services to target groups and ensure appropriate referrals.
• Engage with professionals and communities to raise awareness.
• Maintain accurate records in management systems.
• Keep up to date with policy developments in smoking cessation.
• Provide mentoring to apprentices, volunteers and students.
• Support the Nurse Manager to meet service targets.
• Undertake other duties to support project aims.
• Offer specialist advice to professionals seeking information on Stop Smoking Services.
