Job summary

Breedon Group is hiring an Assistant Quarry Manager for Blinkbonny Quarry in Kelso. You will support day-to-day operations, supervise staff and contractors, and help ensure safety, quality and efficiency on site.

The role reports to the Quarry Manager and involves coordinating production, maintenance and compliance activities across the site, with a focus on continuous improvement and cost control.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of quarrying processes and plant operations.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Proven leadership and people management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and scheduling production including blasting and stockpiling.
• Oversee operations to meet targets safely and within budget.
• Support quality control and maintenance programs.
• Maintain records of production, stock and incidents.
• Assist with budgets, costs and procurement of consumables.
• Contribute to long-term planning for quarry development.
• Supervise colleagues and contractors, ensuring teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regs.
• Deputise for Quarry Manager when required.
