Job summary
Breedon Group plc in Gilfach Quarry, Neath Port Talbot seeks an Assistant Quarry Manager to support safe, day-to-day operations and regulatory compliance on site. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will help oversee production activities and coordinate colleagues and contractors.
You will contribute to planning, maintenance, quality control, budgeting and continuous improvement to boost efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications
- Experience managing quarry operations and plant processes.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist planning and scheduling production, including blasting and stockpiling.
- Assist Quarry Manager to meet targets safely, efficiently, on budget.
- Participate in quality control of materials against standards.
- Monitor equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
- Keep accurate records of materials, stock, maintenance, and incidents.
- Help manage budgets and procurement of consumables.
- Contribute to long-term quarry development and rehab plans.
- Supervise staff and contractors, promoting teamwork.
- Deputise for Quarry Manager when required.
