Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking an Assistant Quarry Manager to support day-to-day operations at Denbigh Quarry, Wales. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will help oversee production activities, ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, and assist with budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management on site.

Qualifications

• Essential experience in quarry operations and plant processes.
• Strong leadership and people management abilities.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Proficient in using quarry management systems and MS Office.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and scheduling production including blasting, crushing, screening and stockpiling to high standards.
• Assist Quarry Manager to oversee operations to meet targets safely, efficiently and within budget.
• Participate in quality control to ensure materials meet standards.
• Monitor and maintain equipment via preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Keep accurate records of materials, stock levels, maintenance and safety incidents.
• Help manage budgets, costs, and inventory of consumables and spare parts.
• Provide input for long-term planning including quarry development and rehabilitation.
• Supervise quarry colleagues and contractors and promote teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Support safety programs and conduct risk assessments.
