Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the Reliability Engineering team in Oxford on a hybrid basis. You will own electronics fixes across quantum systems, driving uptime and reducing operational costs while standardizing improvements for future builds.

You will lead design, prototyping, and deployment of fixes, coordinate with Operations, Science, and Manufacturing, and ensure robust documentation and change control across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Analogue and mixed-signal electronics design experience.
• Proficient in op-amp circuits, low-noise design, and RF concepts.
• Ability to translate reliability problems into concrete engineering fixes.
• Experience with Altium, PCB schematics, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Triage, root-cause, and prioritize electrical issues on live systems.
• Design, prototype, build, and test electrical fixes and PCBs.
• Lead fleet-wide reliability upgrades and standardize control hardware.
• Coordinate deployment and retrofits with Operations and Science teams.
• Document fixes and integrate changes into engineering baselines.
