Job summary

Oxford Ionics, now part of IonQ, is seeking a Senior FPGA Verification Engineer to join our FPGA Team. You will design and implement verification environments and collaborate with RTL designers to deliver reliable quantum control systems.

The role focuses on UVM/SystemVerilog verification, constrained-random testing, and automated regression pipelines, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to shape the quantum hardware stack.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of professional FPGA verification experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog/UVM.
  • Ability to translate technical specs into robust verification strategies.
  • Proven debugging skills and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and maintain advanced UVM/SystemVerilog verification environments for complex FPGA designs.
  • Define and execute verification plans, including constrained-random testing, functional coverage, and code coverage analysis.
  • Collaborate with RTL design engineers to debug issues, identify root causes, and ensure high-quality design implementation.
  • Develop and maintain automated regression suites and CI pipelines to ensure design stability.
