Barrington James is seeking a Technical Pre-Sales professional to join its growing European commercial team. The role sits at the intersection of quantum computing, commercial strategy and customer engagement, translating complex tech into business opportunities for diverse clients.

You will work with prospective and existing customers across Europe, supporting the full journey from initial engagement to technical discussions, with collaboration across sales, product and R&D.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in the private sector.
• Strong understanding of quantum computing fundamentals.
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Technical Pre-Sales or Solutions Engineering.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
• Experience in a startup, scale-up or high-growth tech environment is advantageous.
• Fluent professional English.

Responsibilities

• Communicate the value of advanced quantum computing technologies to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Engage with prospective customers across Europe and identify opportunities within targeted industries.
• Translate customer challenges into business and application opportunities.
• Build relationships with senior and executive-level decision-makers.
• Support the sales process from engagement through to contract discussions.
• Collaborate with sales, product and R&D to understand technology, products and roadmap.
• Attend conferences, industry events and customer meetings across Europe.
• Contribute to go-to-market strategy and customer engagement processes.
